Photo of a Long-billed Corella?

Hi all, Bill here

I’m preparing a Facebook post about how LBCs dig into hard packed dirt, and I discovered that I don’t have a photo of one at hand (I know I’ve taken some quite decent ones before but they’re … somewhere)

Does anyone have a photo of a Long-billed Corella, preferably on the . . . → Read More: Photo of a Long-billed Corella?

Turkey Talk and Jabiru

All that opinion is fair enough. The Jabiru is an interesting story. I think we all know it but here it is again. The point being that the Jabiru is one species of bird, only from South America. The name comes from a Tupi–Guaraní language and means “swollen neck”, a feature not shared with our . . . → Read More: Turkey Talk and Jabiru

Help please, seabird

Really? HANZAB and field guide drawings match colour (or shade) for Common Diving Petrel as dark grey above and pale grey below. Not “black & white”, although at sea I guess they could look black & white. I have only ever seen Common Diving Petrel on one day and not recently but they . . . → Read More: Help please, seabird
