Hi all
A recent trip to Mt Isa resulted in seeing and photographing these Snipe at Clear Water Lagoon , Lake Moondarah near Mt Isa , on the 10th March.
When one flushed, it flew with a direct flight , relatively low, in a semi-circle and re-landed not far away. I have shown these photos and discussed these birds with Martin Cachard and we are of the opinion that they are most likely Swinhoe’s but would be interested in other peoples’ opinions.
I will get around to doing a full trip report soon.
