By Birding-Aus, on July 1st, 2017 Hi all,
I recently enjoyed twitching the Little Stint discovered by Scott Baker at Stockyard Point (alongside the SIPO) last Sunday. A trip report ( www.bigdipbirding.com/little-stint-twitch.html) for anyone who fancies a read and a bit of an adventure!
Best wishes,

By Birding-Aus, on June 30th, 2017 This on Mashable is worth a read. Do we have any similarly notorious individuals. I guess we’ve all been dived on by magpies and plovers

By Birding-Aus, on June 27th, 2017 A couple of years ago a Birding Aus member helped arrange for my paralysed daughter-in-law and grand-daughter to meet Carlton players. She loved the experience and often mentions it via her alphabet board. I’ve lost the details of the member who helped and wondered if he could contact me.
Thanks

By Birding-Aus, on June 23rd, 2017 Went to use PK Birds today after a recent update (very annoying that after the update the first time I tried to use it was out in the field and it would not start as it needed an internet connection on the first use after an update!) and it seems to be missing calls that . . . → Read More: Pizzey and Knight Android app update

By Birding-Aus, on June 21st, 2017 I have recently purchased a mini spotting scope (a Vortex Razor HD 11-33 X 50mm) to take with me on trips when birding is an occasional, ancillary activity (rather than the primary activity, for which I take my full-size Kowa scope and Manfrotto tripod). The Vortex is small enough to be easily packed in regular . . . → Read More: Lightweight tripod for mini spotting scope
By Birding-Aus, on June 19th, 2017 This is a note of warning to any birders thinking of visiting the Top End.
Gamba grass, a weed that grows to nearly five metres in height is out of control in much of the area bounded by Darwin/Litchfield Park-Daly River/Katherine and Kakadu. This area includes several popular birding spots.

By Birding-Aus, on June 18th, 2017 I notice that the IOC (as of June 14th) are considering combining Emu and Cassowaries into one family.
You beauty!!! Since my goal is to see 50% of every family, I would then have 2 out of 4 and wouldn’t need to see Dwarf or Northern Cassowary in PNG.
Bring it on!
