Vale Evan Thomas

Evan and fellow-birdwatcher Peter Disher spent days and days wearing waders wandering around the riverine swamps of the Murray River. His slides show . . . → Read More: Vale Evan Thomas

If you haven’t already seen it, there is a write-up in the Fairfax media of the rear guard campaign to keep the OBPs going in the wild. see www.smh.com.au/good-weekend/can-a-lastditch-intervention-save-the-orangebellied-parrot-20170817-gxycg2.html … “Can a last-ditch intervention save the orange-bellied parrot”?

Black Swans

Hello,

I’ve had an enquiry from a friend who has observed a swan drooling while on the nest. She wondered why, can anyone help me with this?

Many thanks

death of elder who supported birdwatchers in western Arnhem Land

Denise, May I offer sympathy at this news of the passing of your ‘son’, Mr Burrunali. Surely western Arnhem Land country is rich in elders, and the loss of any single one must be felt deeply. The generosity of elders in sharing culture & the best of country cannot be measured.

So sorry. Judith . . . → Read More: death of elder who supported birdwatchers in western Arnhem Land
