FNQ definition

I’ve always taken FNQ to be the Tablelands and Cairns northwards. Jun Matsui and I are doing a Photoguide to the Birds of North Queensland which goes from Townsville northwards, we purposely avoided using FNQ as we went a tad too far south. little black ants

small isolated swarm beside Sydney’s inner west Canterbury Rd this morning. The locals love it when they swarm. Their aerobatics when feasting on flying ants is a joy to watch. My memory is that they used to swarm in February.
