Another obscure one I’m afraid:
· Birds of Paradise and bowerbirds both have 12 rectrices and 10 primaries, but bowerbirds have an atypically large number of secondaries (11-14 including the tertials)
How many secondaries for paradisaeids though? A diagram in Frith & Beehler numbers just 8, but if you include the tertials I guess that puts it up to 11?
Advice please, any museum workers out there?
