How birds flock together

Hello Birding-Aus people,

One of my most joyful memories of a childhood in Central-Western NSW is the sight of flocks of many hundreds, perhaps even a thousand, of Galahs flying in wheeling flocks illuminated by the setting sun. How and why birds behave this way has long been an unknown. Today’s Guardian has an article of interesting research which throws some light on this behaviour.

Cheers,
