Greetings all and a Happy safe Birding New Year.
While doing the rounds on Wed. 4 January 2017 on Greenhill, Thursday Is. I observed 40+ Ft Swifts. They were moving Northerly and at various heights. Some swooping low and feeding. Weather was sunny after a morning rain shower and no breeze. Time 08.48. Also observed some smaller swifts mixed in with the flock but had no glasses available.
At 09.30 I observed a further 6 Ft Swifts again travelling N.
In the evening I was just going down to check the dinghy when 9 Ft Swifts flew through travelling North. Time 18.25. Weather calm and a slight NE breeze.
