Nth Island birds

Just a quick message

An observation on the Nth Island is…there seems to be a LOT of Swamp Harrier in the countryside…more than I see in Australia…it’s like THE only Bird of prey I’ve seen so far…at least 4 just today..weird

Also…is there any way of seeing Yellow-eyed penguin without doing a tour in Sth Island ??
