Not sure if I missed someone posting this, but the IOC now do not seem to accept the split of the Spotted (Tas) and Red (Mt Lewis) Boobooks =============================== To unsubscribe from this mailing list, send the message: unsubscribe (in the body of the message, with no Subject line) to: birding-aus-request@vicnet.net.au http://birding-aus.org ===============================
I think they came out in the recent Owls of the World book which was why they were being discussed (may be wrong). I guess that’s why IOC had a look at them, presumably didn’t fancy what they saw! I haven’t seen either of them either
– so no potential ticks for me and not really qualified to comment on whether they should be split. Hopefully will see the Tassie one later in the year though
CC: birding-aus@vicnet.net.au They appeared in at least the proposed splits (if not actual) at one stage and were subject to some discussion on Birding Aus – but have now vanished. (Don’t care – haven’t seen either of them!) On 20 September 2013 17:45, John Graff < jgraff2@hotmail.com> wrote: I wasn’t aware that either of those have ever been recognised by IOC?
