Well there are at least three types of migrants 1. There are the local altitudinal / interior-coastal migrants 2. There are the regional north-south migrants (birds that shuttle between tropics and temperate areas) 3. There are the trans-hemispherical migrants (who do the epic journeys). We are certainly seeing the changes in the first group. Things are far trickier for the third group. They tend to breed at high lattitudes where things would still be a bit chilly in mid-winter, even when the world is a lot warmer than it is now. Regards, Laurie.
