Wedge-tailed Shearwater

My reply to David, which I forgot to CC to Birding-Aus. Cheers – Paul.

Hi David, the occasional Wedge-tailed remains behind as with Short-tailed and Sooty Shearwaters but Wedge-tailed Shearwaters around SEQ are returning to local colonies by now and should be around in good numbers on our upcoming Saturday pelagic. Sydney is not that far south, true it could be the same bird as July but I wouldn’t be surprised if Wollongong also see a few Wedge-taileds on Saturday. I would be very surprised however to see a Flesh-footed in August, or any winter month for that matter. Cheers – Paul.
