Hi all,
Is anyone in the know able to comment on the why ‘Swan River’ Honeyeater was chosen as the name for this bird – I would have thought there were more appropriate names?

I’d be happy with that – I get confused remembering which is which of the ten White-something Honeyeaters without pictures to help… Cheers,

I thought that was only applicable to scientific names. E.g. Gould also calls the White-naped Honeyeater (eastern) Lunulated Honeyeater and calls the Mistletoebird the Swallow Dicaeum
