RFI Olive Whistler in Qld

Hi all

Wondering if anyone has seen Olive Whistler in Lamington NP or nearby in recent years. I’ve seen this bird once in QLD – in 1996 – and have heard of few records since. Being restricted to the highlands up here, I would not be at all surprised were it to become a possible climate change victim and become extinct in Queensland as it retreats southwards. Greg Roberts has noted other more common birds, like Satin Bowerbirds and Crimson Rosellas, also in retreat from the south east up here.

Hi Andrew I have a record from 20th October 2005.

On the track from O’Reillys out to the Border Rim.

Not too recent, but may be of interest (Atlas record)

    Cheers Graeme Stevens
