No. The recently approved massive UGB expansion of Melbourne to supply (money for developers &) housing for our rapidly growing population into previously designated ‘Green Wedge’ areas is destroying massive areas of grassland and other habitat and migratory routes of many birds and other species and habitats upon which they depend. Coastal housing developments around here impact on coastal species like OBParrot. All over Australia, and the world, growing human population is threatening life on this finite planet. Increasingly energy and material wasteful lifestyles of humans, especially those of us in countries like Australia and USA is bringing on climatic changes, environmental disasters (e.g. Timor Sea, Gulf of Mexico and MANY African oil spills), plastic ocean pollution and so many other things that are impacting on our environment including BIRDS. Some, I hope many, of us are interested in these topics. Personally, I am disinterested in some other topics but do not wish to stop their discussion. I hope B-Aus continues to be a broad forum.
