Does anyone have the Canon prime lens 400mm f5.6 and uses it for bird photography? I’m thinking of buying that rather than the 100-400mm zoom because it’s a bit lighter but around the same price, and it’s a prime lens (better optics, etc). This topic gets a good workout whenever it’s raised but I can’t find reference to this particular lens in the last five years. If anyone would like to have a yarn, please write with your number off-forum and I’ll call you. (And possibly save everybody the agony.) ===============================
