Birdpedia – Australia – Weekly Digest

The following is a digest of Sightings Reported on Birdpedia for the period Monday, December 12, 2016 to Sunday, December 18, 2016:

Area: SA

Location: Black Point, YP

Brown Goshawk (Accipiter fasciatus) (1) I watched for some time a number of Willie Wagtails attacking an immature Brown Goshawk, but the Goshawk won, flying into a tree which I assume had a family of young Willie Wagtails in it.
The Brown Goshawk was bird number 107 for this area.

Date: Sunday, December 11, 2016

Location: Hart Road Wetland, Aldinga

Rufous Songlark (Cincloramphus mathewsi) (2) Two males performing song flights over the wetland. There was just one this time last year. It is interesting that they prefer this habitat rather than the adjoining scrub.
