You can get to Mt Carbine and drive as far as Laura. Beyond that is flooded.
You can also get as far as Cooktown but we just heard the road to McIvor River is also flooded.
It is possible to fly to Lockhardt River but this may be $400 one way. Much easier to see the Cape specials at Varirata via Port Moresby.
