Hello birders
Can someone who really knows their calls please help confirm that this call is being made by an Eastern Whipbird and NOT a Rufous Whistler?

Thanks and regards Akos
Hi Akos,I’d put my money on E Whipbird. You might like to look at this http://web2.uwindsor.ca/courses/biology/dmennill/EAWH.html to work out which region it “should” be from.Cheers,Arwen

Akos I can’t pretend to be an expert on bird calls but you have in fact recorded the calls of two Eastern Whipbirds. The male makes the initial whip crack sound and the female immediate answering call “choo choo” is clearly audible.
