Hi folks, Just a net cast for any recent (fortnight at most) for Banded Fruit-doves and/or Partridge Pigeon, as traditional sites aren’t working for me. Gorge fig trees don’t seem to be in fruit – so not sure if the Banded fruties go somewhere else? If you have recent info for either these two birds, please email me PDQ – I’m itching to leave the Top End, but cannot believe how much trouble these two are giving me! jweigel@reptilepark.com.au John Weigel _______________________________________________ Birding-Aus mailing list Birding-Aus@birding-aus.org To change settings or unsubscribe visit: http://birding-aus.org/mailman/listinfo/birding-aus_birding-aus.org
Right on Martin, I forgot to mention the coffee! There’s not much fruiting at this time of year so Banded Fruit-dove is rather hit or miss. hi John, have u tried Gubara yet for the fruit-dove?? u could get the Partridge P at Surveyors Pool on Mitchel Plateau when looking for Black GWren too…not recent sightings, but sites to definitely hit if u hadn’t planned to… …or u could always pop into Denise’s place for a coffee!!! cheers martin cachardcairns _______________________________________________ Birding-Aus mailing list Birding-Aus@birding-aus.org To change settings or unsubscribe visit: http://birding-aus.org/mailman/listinfo/birding-aus_birding-aus.org
Hi John, It’s probably out of date info now – certainly not in the last 2 weeks! – but back in late Feb I saw around 18 Partridge Pigeons on the road to Gunlom in the Southern end of Kakadu. By the end of the drive to Plum Tree Creek they were trash birds!
