I was attacked by a Grey Butcherbird in late September in a suburban street on the Gold Coast, Queensland, on my walking route to work. It had swooped me on two mornings about three weeks earlier, so I had changed to walking down the other side of the road, where there is no footpath. After two weeks had elapsed and I had not seen the bird again, I assumed it had moved elsewhere and went back to walking down the footpath side. I did not see or hear the bird coming at all and it landed a blow just above my right ear. No blood but a good bruise. I was also wondering whether this was common behaviour. ============================== To unsubscribe from this mailing list, send the message: unsubscribe (in the body of the message, with no Subject line) to: birding-aus-request@vicnet.net.au
