Afternoon all… I just had to share with you what new birds i saw in the wild over the last 2 days…..not heaps of new birds, but two birds that i have never seen in the wild… The BELL MINER…(another bird i’ve wanted to see since i was 10 yrs old, usually i only hear it)…managed an o.k photo of this one, sooo difficult to see amongst the leaves.
And the LONG BILLED CORELLA…. Am currently visiting some friends in WYONG, 130km nth of sydney nsw (roughly), i heard a bird in the trees over their driveway that had a corella sound (i’m used to hearing LITTLE CORELLA’S), but very different at the same time…i grabbed my binoculars, and discovered 4 LONG BILLED CORELLA’S, i was excited as you could imagine….they flew away before i could get a photo, i hope they’re back tomorrow 
The BELL MINER, i discovered whilst going on an afternoon walk yesterday….i just suddenly started hearing them in the distance, and thought….oh boy, i would love to see one of them……as i came nearer to the bridge/creek, they were all in the trees, about 20 of them, flitten around, lookin for food and calling out….they remind me of the noisy miner family, only a little prettier (marginally), and an incredible sound for a little bird… So there we have it….also spotted a male REGENT BOWERBIRD in the trees above my head, watched it fly off…..ahhhhh, such a great place….not to mention the CHANNEL BILLED CUCKOO, EASTERN KOELS, KING PARROTS, WRENS galore, SACRED KINGFISHERS, and sooooooooooooooooooooo many Indian miner birds, which i’m aware nobody likes, but, i still find them interesting all the same….
