A Fair Go for John Young?

Several people on this forum are doing precisely what they are accusing others of. Mick Brasher was right to point out Russell Woodford’s advice: “Can I please make the point that dragging up old issues that have been debated, argued and fought over is not likely to resolve them any better this time around.”” Yet that is what Mick, Ian and others are doing in spades. They go further by making slurs again “certain people” being “blacklisted by tour operators” without having either the courage to name those certain people or providing any evidence to support that assertion. It is perfectly reasonable for people to raise legitimate concerns surrounding John Young’s finding, including the future of the bird’s habitat and the distribution of its sound recording. People should be able to raise those concerns without being subject to this sort of nonsense. John’s achievement was wonderful but some folk are forgetting something fundamental: the Night Parrot and its future does not belong to him nor any individual. Thank you Mick for a your thoughts. It sure puts another slant on things when you discover that certain people have been blacklisted by tour operators in the past. You wonder about their real motivation for negative comments don`t you. It is good to see that your main concern is for the future of the bird, and nothing else. Well done.” =============================== To unsubscribe from this mailing list, send the message: unsubscribe (in the body of the message, with no Subject line) to: birding-aus-request@vicnet.net.au http://birding-aus.org ===============================
