Banded Stilts at Truganina Swamp Melbourne

Interested in people’s thoughts on the following.

Have received a report of Banded Stilts (with Black-winged Stilts) at Truganina Swamp Altona.

Has anyone else reported the species from this locality recently??

Hey Martin, with just a little research using some of the other bird resources that are freely available on the web, and easy to use, you would’ve noticed that Banded Stilt have been at Truganina Swamp for at least two and a half years :-)

See below just some of the Birdline reports since Oct 2011. The most birds seen was 88 individuals. The report rate for Truganina is 14% which, by comparison, means they’re seen there nearly as often as they’re seen at the Western Treatment Plant, with a report rate of 19%. This means they’re seen there so regularly we probably should stop reporting them on Birdline. (Make note to myself.)

    Cheers,

    Tim
