C&B vs IOC taxonomy

IOC has Green-headed/crowned Wagtail as an ssp. of Eastern Yellow Wagtail. Considering with a lot of the Eastern and Western Yellow Wagtail subspecies that they have different summer and winter quarters, but narrow contact zones with not so much hybridisation in most cases, perhaps the Dutch have the right idea with splitting nearly the entire lot. I’m not fishing for armchair ticks or anything…. Cheers,

Tony
