G’day everyone,
I photographed this little brown bird at Wagtail way last week. It was with a group of White-fronted Chats and Pipits feeding on the causeway. I can’t work out what it is. The bird on the left with it’s back towards the camera is a female Chat. I got a good enough photo of her front to be positive about her.

Any help would be much appreciated.
Regards,
Mark

Thanks Martin,
This is only the second time I’ve seen White-fronted Chats, so I’m not familiar with them at all. The first time being only 2 weeks earlier in the Tamar Estuary in Tassie.

Hi Mark Your bird in question is also a White-fronted Chat, but a juvenile. At this age they are more brownish-backed, rather than like a greyish-backed more mature female. Cheers Martin CachardCairns0428 782 808
