girraween

Some nice birds while camping this week at Girraween National Park and the Old Wallangara Road, south of Stanthorpe. Best was a good but brief view of a male Superb Lyrebird (race edwardi – a notoriously difficult bird to see). Other nice birds included White-browed Babbler (here at the eastern extremity of their geographical range), Diamond Firetail, Brown Treecreeper, Painted Button-quail and Crested Shrike-tit.
