Fw: Phalarope bonan

Dear Wim,

Thanks for your update on things Arctic. I can almost smell the flowers and the cold sea. Here in the east of Oz land, particularly NSW and Queensland, we are suffering an appalling draught and are dreaming of rain, unfortunately still only a dream. Where I live in Gloucester, just north-east of Barrington . . . → Read More: Fw: Phalarope bonan

Book Title

A week or so back, I saw mentioned, a new book that sounded interesting, but I can’t remember the title. The title was something like “ Mrs Somebody’s Something”. I would be most grateful if somebody with a more functioning brain than me remembers it and can let me know the title.

TIA

Carl Clifford

iPhone audio recording

We were listening to an Oriole mimicing a lot of birds and recorded some of it using the video recorder on the iPhone. There are a number of audio recording apps and I’m just wondering if anyone has tried them and could comment on them for recording bird calls.

A bit lost !?!?

Hi everyone. I’m a bit lost with regards to the latest updates in eBird – in particular, what’s happened to the Variegated Fairy-Wren (VFW). I remember reading recently –not sure where – that the VFW Malurus lamberti would remain as the wren found roughly on the east side of the Great Dividing Range. A new . . . → Read More: A bit lost !?!?
